Dallas, Texas--Mbigo John Paul, fondly referred to by his stage name,  MJP, “Music Joined with Passion”, is a rising hip-hop artist  from Uganda, East Africa, now on an audio production training program in Kuala Lumpur, is keeping Malaysians talking. Born in 1995 in Kampala, MJP developed a   passion for music when he was a secondary school student at St. Lawrence Paris – Palais along Masaka Road in Uganda.  MJP delved into the works of popular artists such as Jay-Z, P-Diddy, and 50 Cent to better appreciate and acclimatize himself to the genre of Hip Hop music. “My instructors and peers say my music rocks and will surely take me places,” Mbaigo reveals.

Recognizing his natural talent for entertaining people through music before he was a teenager, MJP entertained his classmates with innovative lyrics of trending Hip-hop songs.  He continued to develop his talent and cut his teeth as an upcoming hip-hop star during music festivals while pursuing his High school education at Hana Mixed School in   Nsangi near Kampala, Uganda. Taking opportunities whenever they made themselves available, MJP composed, wrote, and recorded his own songs and began building his personal discography.

To his credit, he has recorded various songs including “Give it to me”, “Mutuleke”, “Wine it up”, and others, all produced by Steve go from Trocx studios located in Ntinda, a suburb of Kampala, Uganda.

MJP’s new version of “Mutuleke’, most favorite hit by his fans,  recorded and mastered  at Buzz records,  was produced by trocx records with amazing aremix, in which MJP originally featured with Emma tings and kayz kaks.

Currently, MJP is pursuing a certificate in audio production at the International College of Music (ICOM), a leading institute of music in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to further hone his skills and take his career to a higher international level. His plan is to use his training at ICOM to ground himself in the basics of audio and visual production, develop and gain knowledge and expertise associated with the dynamic and competitive Music Industry.

He has, in the meantime, taken advantage of his training to stage in-house performances that have received high ratings from his peers and instructors. “I am encouraged by the support I am getting from the college and in the few months I have been here, my music has won many hearts,” he writes in an e-mail message to the EADM Editor. MJp also views his stay at ICOM as a great opportunity for him to expand his social network. “All these are preliminary steps to my long-term plan of opening a state-of-the-art recording studio, the finest in East Africa,” he writes.
