Hurst, Texas--The Representative of the Kabaka of Buganda in Washington, Idaho, and Oregon States   engineer Moses Lule Gayi Mayanja has expressed shock at the untimely death of his brother, friend, and enterprising businessman Fred Williams Kato Majanja. Fred Williams Kato Majanja, 51, was killed by a 10-wheeler lorry at Banda along Jjinja Road Tuesday.  The lorry veered off the road and crashed him to death as he was standing by the roadside waiting to cross the highway and take a taxi to downtown Kampala.

In a message of condolence to the bereaved family, engineer Moses Lule Gayi Mayanja mourned the untimely demise of businessman Fred Kato whom he described as a “brother, friend, a loving father, husband, and enterprising businessman.” The late Fred Williams Kato Majanja, 51, was a young twin brother to Joshua Kalungi Wasswa and a sibling to David Kasujja, Florence Eyerabira, and Eva Semakula, and father to Fred William Kasattiro, all resident in Tacoma, Washington State, part of the area under the jurisdiction of engineer Moses Lule Gayi Mayanja as the representative of the Kabaka of Buganda.

“As a member of the Ngeye clan, I mourn him because he was a brother, a man who loved his Kabaka, and country,” a statement from engineer Mayanja to EADM said.  He stated that the family, the Ngeye clan, Buganda Kingdom, and Uganda at large have lost an illustrious, humble, and compassionate individual. Engineer Mayanja extended his gratitude to all those who have contributed in various ways towards the travel expenses of relatives flying to Uganda for burial. He also expressed appreciation to those keeping vigil at the home of Joshua Kalungi Wasswa in Tacoma and others still sending contributions towards funeral-related expenses.

A vigil for Fred Kato Majanja is underway at the residence of his late father William Kirumira Salongo in Kate Falaawo, Kawempe. Burial of the deceased is scheduled for Saturday April 23, 2016 in Kilwanira, matugga, Wakiso District. “Rest in peace, my brother and friend, Fred,” a statement from Moses Mayanja partly read.
